Dance Central is a performing arts school for all age groups.

We have been running for fifteen years with schools in Blantyre, Hamilton and East Kilbride, providing classes for boys and girls in many different dance styles including disco, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, street dance, pop dance, musical theatre, tap, rock'n'roll, salsa, stretch classes, gymnastics, mums funky classes and much more!

Dance Central's Artistic Director, Elaine Wedlock, has over 20 years of dance experience and has worked all over the world. Elaine has 15 years teaching experience and is a member of the B.A.T.D, the A.D.F.P and the B.D.C. Elaine also has a B.A (Hons) Degree in Dance and is constantly upgrading her skills.

Our first award of 2012 goes to January's Pupil of the Month... Molly Shearer!

Molly is very dedicated and has made a vast improvement over the last few months, showing everyone that hard work can really pay off!

SWEET SURPRISE

As I'm sure you all know, our very own Mya McDade has appeared on Sky 1's amazing "Got to Dance" show!

Mya wowed the judges with her Sweet Surprise routine, which you can see on youtube by clicking HERE

With three gold stars for her brilliant audition, Mya is on the shortlist for the live semi-finals, so lets get right behind her and give her the support she deserves!

SUMMER SCHOOL 2011

Dance Central held its annual summer school and it was great to see so many of our pupils attending.

We had some fantastic workshops, learned great new routines and all had a great time.

Thank you to all of my pupils for making it a great summer and I can't wait to see you all at the start of our new term XXX

BOYS ONLY HIP HOP

Dance Central has now been running our boys only Hip Hop class for over 4 years and is proving to be very popular.

Boys that attend age from 4 years to 16 years.

They attend classes two to three times a week and they also have the option to take part in private lessons to perfect their moves for any competitions that are coming up.

Some boys prefer to attend once a week for fun and to help keep fit and healthy. Boys that attend regularly throughout the year have the chance to perform in our annual show. Some of our boys also attend gymnastic lessons to help them with their tricks and flips.

Dance Central currently trains 60 boys per week in street dance with poppin', lockin', breakin', fancy footwork, performance skills and rhythm...We have great fun throughout the process!

To all the boys at Dance Central. Well done guys you're all doing so well. keep up the hard work -it will only pay off when it comes to performance time!
